Marking the official start of Cape Town’s summer holiday season, the Adderley Street Festive Lights Switch-On is the city centre’s largest free public celebration. Attracting over 100,000 attendees to the Grand Parade and surrounding streets, the event features a massive open-air concert with top local pop artists, DJs, cultural troupes, and gospel choirs. The evening culminates in the ceremonial illumination of thousands of customized LED light displays stretching along historic Adderley Street, led by the Executive Mayor of Cape Town.
